will not, if we can help it, draw before we hear from you; but if the
Demands upon us should oblige us to take this Step, we will not
exceed one hundred Pounds.

Benjamin Stoddert, Jeremiah T. Chase & James Brice Esquires
Permission given to Anthony Addison of Prince Georges County
to go to New York by Dobbs's Ferry, to have an Interview with his
Father the Reverend Mr Henry Addison and to return. —

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to His Excellency
Governor Paca three pounds out of the money appropriated for Con-
tingent Expences for the like Sum advanced by him to John Hiland
an Express from Baltimore with Dispatches from Messrs Lee, Car-
roll and Hemsley Delegates in Congress. —
On Considering the Petition of Thomas Scott, praying to be re-
lieved from a forfeited Recognizance and the Recommendation of
Worcester County Court in his favor We are of Opinion that the
Sum mentioned in the said Recognizance be remitted it appearing to
Us by the Petition and Recommendation aforesaid that the Witness
against the said Scott absconded so that the said Scott could not have
been prosecuted if he had appeared agreeable to the Term of said
Recognizance and We do accordingly hereby remit the same

Supplied Lieutenant Henry Baker with a quire of paper for the
use of a Detachment of the Maryland Troops. —

Commission issued to Andrew Buchanan, John Moale, Benjamin
Rogers, James Calhoun, George Goldsmith Presbury, Isaac Van-
bibber, Peter Shepherd, John Cradock, John Merryman Junr
Jeremiah Johnson, Charles Ridgely of Wm, Christopher Vaughan,
Jesse Bussey, Robert Lemmon, Abram Vanbibber, James McHenry,
Henry Wilson, Thomas Russell, William Russell, Robert North
Carnan, Edward Cockey, Thomas Elliott Doctr John Coulter and
Thomas Todd appointed Justices of the Peace for Baltimore
County. —

[W Paca in Council to Nehemiah Holland Esqr]

It appears from our Register, that Mr John Pope Mitchell, has
not been in the Commission of the Peace, since the Year 1780. He
was left out in 1781, for what Reasons, we know not. Should the
Convenience of the People require any Addition to the present Bench,
we will chearfully make it, at the Request and Recommendation of
the Court.
