We have the Honor to lay before you, a Letter from Mr Ridley,
with Several Papers relating to the Business he was commissioned to
execute for the State, which, in our Apprehension, merits the imme-
diate Attention of your Honors.

In Compliance with your Letter of the 2 1st Ulto we have the Honor
to recommend Major John Davidson, a retiring Officer under the
last Arrangement, to be Intendant of Naval Prisoners at Baltimore

Saturday 4th January 1783.

Present as on Yesterday. —
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to James Kelso five
pounds, two shillings and ten pence specie agreeable to the Act to
adjust the Debts due from this State per Accounts passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to John Register Emory two hundred
and seven pounds, eight shillings and three pence specie agreeable to
the Act aforesaid per Certificate adjusted 8th Oct. 1782 — John Kent
seventy two pounds four shillings and nine pence specie agreeable to
the said Act per Certificate adjusted 5 Decr 1782 — and also to Robert
Waters one hundred and fifty eight pounds, seven Shillings and
eight pence specie agreeable to the Act aforesaid per Certificate ad-
justed 25 December 1782. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Carson two pounds specie
agreeable to the Act aforesaid per Accol passed 23 Decr 1782. —

Commission of Letters of Marque and Reprisal issued to Edward
Parkinson Commander of the Schooner Jacket one hundred and
twenty Tons burthen, navigated by thirty men, mounting ten Car-
riage Guns, belonging to Stephen Steward & son and Thomas Yates
of Baltimore. —
Permission given to Samuel Outten to pass through this State on
his way to Accomack County in the State of Virginia for the pur-
pose of Visiting his Friends, he conducting himself in every respect
conformably to his Parole of the 2d Instant except as to the restric-
tion confining him to the City of Annapolis. —

The Board took into Consideration, the Subject of appointing a
Naval Officer to supply the Vacancy occasioned by the Death of
Mr Sollers, for the fourth District.
