That the said Treasurer pay to Capt Daniel Bryan five pounds,
seventeen shillings specie out of the money appropriated for the
Barges to pay for 78lb rope for the use of the Vessel hired by this
Board of Captain Levin Spedding, the said Sum to be charged to the
said Spedding and deducted from the hire of the said Vessel Captain
Bryan to be accountable. —
Richard Henderson junior an American who left this State in the
year 1775 and hath since been absent in parts beyond the Sea, and is
now lately, that is to say, within three [ ] last past returned
into this State, appeared before the Council and before them did
repeat, and subscribe the Oath of Fidelity and support to this State
contained in the "Act to punish certain Crimes, and Misdemeanors,
and to prevent the Growth of Toryism." —
A Letter this Day received from Alexander Somervill of Calvert
County, informing the Board, that he has given up the Dispute con-
cerning the Election for Sheriffs of said County and is willing the
Commission should issue to Mr Hunt — therefore Ordered that Mr
Hunt be commissioned agreeable to the Return made by the Judges of
the Election. —

Tuesday 29th October 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Benja Harwood
Esqr Continental receiver of Taxes in this State nine hundred and
fifty four pounds, four shillings and one penny current Money paid
in under the Act for the Sale of certain confiscated british property
passed April Session last to be charged to the United States. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Samuel H. Howard eleven pounds,
sixteen shillings and three pence current money out of the money
appropriated for the Barges due him on Acel passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Nicholas Harwood five pounds
specie out of the money aforesaid per Acel passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Dennis McCormack thirteen pounds,
five shillings and six pence specie agreeable to the Act to adjust the
Debts due from this State per Acel passed. —
Commission issued to Charles Mankin elected Sheriff of Charles
County. —

Commission issued to Samuel Thomas elected Sheriff of Talbot
County. —

Permission given to Luke Wheeler of Baltimore Town to solicit
leave of His Excellency General Washington or the Commanding
