That the said Treasurer pay to John Rawlings seventy eight
pounds, eighteen shillings specie agreeable to the Act aforesaid per
Account passed the 14th Instant.
That the said Treasurer pay to Simon Bowman five pounds four-
teen shillings and one penny specie out of the twenty thousand
pounds appropriated for the payment of Creditors of a particular
description due him for Money lent in June 1780 per Certificate
adjusted. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Nicholas Valiant eleven pounds,
five shillings specie due him on Account passed for transporting
Troops to head of Elk.
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt William Middleton one
hundred and four pounds, twelve shillings and ten pence specie due
on Account passed. —
John McMullen who enlisted in the Service of this State in 1776
as a State soldier, is hereby discharged. —
Commission issued to Samuel Abell junior elected Sheriff of Saint
Marys County. —

[Council to Mr. David Poe]
We have appointed you to procure Quarters for the French Troops,
during their Stay at Baltimore. They are already quartered, but as
we have frequent Applications from some of the Persons whose
Houses the Officers now occupy, for their Removal; it may some-
times be necessary that their Quarters should be changed, to relieve
Persons particularly circumstanced. In all such Cases you will judge,
if they can be quartered elsewhere, with less Inconvenience, and act
for the best. Mr Charles Blair complains, not only of being put to
great Inconvenience, but of being much injured by a House which
he has rented being in the Possession of an Officer. Whenever it is
proper to procure new Quarters, you will be governed by the Act of
1777, entitled An Act for quartering Soldiers. You will wait upon the
Commanding Officer, and inform him of your Appointment, and in

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Benjamin Fendall
Senr four hundred and sixty six pounds, twelve shillings and four
pence and Mrs Mary Ireland ten pounds, ten shillings specie agreeable
to the "Act to adjust the Debts due from this State " per Certificate &
Account passed the 16 Instant. —
That the said Treasurer pay to John Smith thirteen pounds, ten
shillings & six pence specie agreeable to the Act aforesaid per Ac-
count passed. —
