Saturday 14 September 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Elizabeth Issabell
five pounds, one shilling & six pence specie due her per Account
passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Crisall Twenty pounds specie
on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to Priscilla Pinkney thirty seven
Pounds, ten shillings specie agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts
due from this State, per Account passed. —
Whereas by the Petition of Andrew Grosh of Frederick County
which is certified by a number of his neighbours, Inhabitants of said
County, it is represented that he was fined by a Militia Court Martial
for a neglect of Militia Duty to the amount of twenty Pounds, and
that he is not an able bodied man or fit for Militia Duty having had a
rupture for ten years past and other Sickness, which has rendered

him hardly able to assist his Family and having a Wife and six
small Children who depend on his labour for Subsistance. It is
therefore ordered that the said fine of twenty Pounds be remitted
to the said Andrew Grosh. —

[Council to Honble Intendant]

Doctr Murray represents to this Board, that some Straw and a few
Shirts for the sick Soldiers at the Hospital, are absolutely necessary
for the Preservation of their Lives. Under these Circumstances we
have drawn an Order in Favor of Mr Crisall for £20. for the Pur-
pose of procuring a Dozen Shirts, and Straw, and we request the
Money may be furnished on Account of the United States.

We wish you to make the necessary Enquiries respecting the
Information given in the enclosed Extract of a Letter from Mr
Brooke; [be so] obliging [as] to give us the Result of your
Enquiries.
