specie in part of a Balance of three thousand and fifty eight pounds
four shillings and six Pence specie due on Account passed the 12th
Instant.
That the said Treasurer pay to Colo Richard Dallam one thousand
five hundred Pounds specie agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts
due from this State in full of the Balance of three thousand and
fifty eight Pounds four shillings and six Pence specie due on Account
passed 12th Inst.

We request you will favor us with the Settlement you have made
with Colo Rawlings under our Contract. We shall also be obliged
to you for a Copy of the new Contract you have made with him.

[Council to His Excy Count Rochambeau]

We have not the least Objection to your Excellency's causing to
be erected at Baltimore, such Fortification as you shall judge sufficient
for the Security of the heavy Cannon and Stores of his most Christian
Majesty. Should any of the Citizens be unavoidably injured in
their Property by this necessary Measure, Compensation will be
made them by the State.

Wednesday 14th August 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt William
Pendergast twenty Pounds specie to be expended in procuring neces-
saries for the Officers in this City on Command agreeable to " a
Supplement to the Act entitled An Act to raise recruits " on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to Doctr James Murray seven Pounds,
eight shillings and six Pence specie out of the money appropriated for
equipping the Barges due him for Medicine recd by Doctr Worthing-
ton for the Barges on Account.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt. Philemon
Warfield thirteen Pounds, ten shillings, Mary Howard fifty six
Pounds seven shillings and six Pence & William Watson seventy
five Pounds, specie agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts due
from this State per Accts passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Major Richard Chew, one hundred
and fifty Pounds specie out of the money arising from the Specie
Tax due on two Certificates for seventy five Pounds, each, given him
by Mr Robert Bowie one of the Persons appointed in Virtue of the
Act to furnish the Southern Army with twenty Dragoon Horses.
