[Annapolis to Robert R. Livingston Esqr Secy of Foreign Affairs]

Your Letter of the 14th of May, announcing the Birth of a Dauphin
of France, I had the Honor to communicate to the General Assembly
of Maryland, at whose Request I have appointed a Day for the
Celebration of an Event which inspires the Citizens of this State with
the sincerest Joy.

Saturday 22d June 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John Fenwick,
one Pound, thirteen shillings and four pence & Sarah Blake one
Pound, thirteen shillings and six Pence of the Bills emitted under
the Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca due them per Ac-
counts passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut John Chever Ten Pounds
five-shillings for Stores to 1st July on Account & seven Pounds, two
shillings of the same Ems p Acct passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to John H. Stone Esqr one hundred
and twenty five Pounds of the same Emission for a quarters Salary
in Feby last on Account.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Richard Frazier
fourteen Pounds four shillings of the Bills emitted under the Act
for the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca, ten Pounds, two shillings
thereof to be delivered over to Nicholas Rowe and four Pounds,
two shillings to William Dormand due them per Accounts passed.
Commission of Letters of Marque and Reprisal issued to Oliver
Daniel Commander of the Brigantine Compte De Grasse, sixty Tons
burthen navigated by twenty five men, mounting eight Carriage
Guns and eight Swivels, belonging to Messrs Remey, Demare, Martin
De Perman and Duvalt subjects of his most Christian Majesty.

[Council to Charles Thomson Esqr Secy of Congress]

Experiencing very great Difficulties from the Want of the Journals
of Congress, we take the Liberty to request that you will be pleased
to favor us with a compleat Set. At the same Time that we are
solicitous for this Favor, we cannot help lamenting that it has never
been in our Power to furnish you with the Laws of this State, but
we will now venture to assure you, that you shall have them all in a
very little Time.
