[Council to Colo Thomas Price.]

As the Demand for flesh Provision will be considerable, we deem
it necessary to have the Beef Cattle, now unfit to be slaughtered, put
out and fattened. In some Instances, we have permitted Spirit to be
drawn for the Militia, whilst on Duty, but from the present Situation
of the Finances of this State, it would be improper unless it could be
paid in red Money, to issue Spirit except in particular Cases, such as
fatigue Parties in bad Weather. You will receive by Colo Rawlings
£200. of the late Emission, the only Kind of Money we have. The
Commissary of Prince George's County has been directed to send a
Quantity of whiskey to Mr Beall at George Town, which, if neces-
sary for your Post, may be directed to be sent to Frederick.
