Guarding the prisoners at Frederick per pay roll examined and
passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Samuel Gilpin Esqr for the use of
William Mackey three hundred and eighty four pounds, eleven shil-
lings and two pence of the same Emission due him in lieu of an
Order of the 24th Jany 1781 in his favor for seven hundred and nine
pounds, fourteen shillings & nine pence New Emission which said
order is, now returned, adjusted & passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Michael Burgess for the use of
Lieut. Joshua Burgess thirty pounds of the same Emission in lieu
of a suit of Cloaths and four Shirts for the present Year on Account

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Jesse Duvall
seven pounds ten shillings of the Bills emitted under the Act for the
Emission of Bills of Credit &ca due him for the Board of Benjamin
Duvall a Draught from Prince Georges County per Account
passed. —
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut Robert Denny five hundred
pounds specie to be by him transmitted to the Southern Army for the
use of the Non Commissioned Officers and soldiers who have not
received the four and three Dollars directed to be advanced by the
" Act relating to public Creditors " and Accounted for. —
Ignatius Adams a Substitute from St Marys County to serve 'till
the 10th December, having this Day applied for a Discharge is there-
fore Discharged. —
Mr James Cheston formerly an Inhabitant of Maryland, who left
the State in July 1780 and went to England by way of France,
having returned on the 20th in a return Flag from Charles Town
with an Intention as he alledges to avail himself of the benefit of
the Act entitled An " Act to seize confiscate and appropriate all Brit-
ish property within this State "
Permission is hereby given him to remain in the State until the
meeting of the General Assembly, or some order is taken in his Case,
He having given his parole of honor, to conduct himself with pro-
priety in his situation and not to say or do any thing to the prejudice
of this State or the United States. —

[Council to Colo Henry Hollingsworth]
We have your Favors of the 5th and 14th Inst We know not by
whose Orders you have forwarded any Flour to Philadelphia on the
Account of this State. You should have delivered it over to the Per-
son appointed by Congress or Mr Morris, to receive it at Elk. The
State shall not be at the additional Expence of transporting Flour
to Philadelphia, which will not be received, and we desire that no
Flour be forwarded, nor even delivered at Elk to the Continent, 'til
you have our further Orders or 'til you hear from the Commissary
General.
