(p Favour W. Clements)

I received orders from the Governor & council to have the Cattle
sent to Annapolis in droves not less than 20 in a drove hope to send
the first off this week should have collected them before the orders
came to hand only for the want of Cash shall continue to collect them
and send as fast as collected unless those orders is countermanded
which hope will be the case if Beef can be had from any of the Coun-
ties more convenient the excessive heat will make them fall away
much by driving. I have been obliged to act here as Issuing Com-

act in that department or an allowance made me which will enable me
to get some person to assist in the execution of my office
