[Colo Henry Shryock, Fredk Town, to Gov. Lee.] (pr Mr. Luke
Foster)

Agreable to your Exelency Request I have sent By Mr Luke Foster
one Waggon and twenty one horses Which is the Number I was
Requested to furnish With their Gears I am sory it Was Not In My
Power to sent them sooner. My Being from home at the time I Recd
your Excelencys Letters CauStd the Delay. But hope they Will yet
Com in Good time Being oblidged to attend Court in This Town
Puted out of My Power to setle My act at this time But as soon as I
am Discharged here I Will Setle the same and Bring or Transmit
it the Bearer Mr Foster Will stand in Nead of a Small Sum of Money
Wich I hope your Excelency Will pleas to Grant him to Defray the
Necessary Charges Conducting the Horses to Anapolis.

Doctor Armstrongs Waiter being a Soldier of the Delaware Regt
drawn from the 2d Maryland Brigade, is destitute of Cloathing if he
can be supplied with a suit of Cloaths from the State Store and it is
consistent to charge them to the Continent shall be glad he coud ob-
tain an Order that he may be supplied

[Don'l Yeates D. Q. M., Head of Elk, to the Hon Council.]

The circumstance of the Public posts in this State is so far ex-
hausted of means of business and provisions to subsist troops, the
view of disorder on the Passage of troops or stores, when no regular
Assistance can be given, prompts me to solicit your consideration and
Aid on the circumstance.
There is a material Want of some horses, Waggons and forage,
Aided by you with a few of each of those Articles even on a Credit
lent to the states, I view as very Interesting to the peace and good
order of the inhabitants as it seldom fails of distress to individuals,
when property is exacted by Soldier'y at their Elections — which in-
