Severn, and will with Industry and Integrity do any Work entrusted
to my care. If the State will be pleased to employ me, or to give me
part of their work, I will undertake to manufacture the Hides of the
Public Cattle into Leather, on the same Terms as allowed to others
(which I understand is one half) and if required, I can give un-
doubted Security for my skill and Integrity. If the state incline to
sell the Hides, I will buy them, and give Security for payment. My
Tannery will be secure from the Enemy, and I hope the public will
give me and all other Manufacturers Encouragement

We do ourselves the honor to inclose a Letter from the Compy of
Military Stores. The Board of War informs that the Arms were
ordered to go by Lancaster & from thence the nearest road to Bal-
timore — this we mention that you may know where to meet them
it is thought proper to send a guard.

Inclosed I send, an Invoice of Cannon Muskets and Bayonets,
Cartouch boxes, Ammunition, and implements, forwarded, to the
State of Maryland agreeable to an Order received from the honor-
able Board of War.
To prevent a possibility of loss of time by their lying, and not
being known when they come to hand, I have addresStd the whole
to you, in confidence, that you would be so obliging as to direct, the
proper person, to receive, and receipt for them.
