384 Letters to the Governor and Council

August 1

me Governr Livingston has three Times refused letting her go in
without a Pass from the Governeur of the State she came from.
Some of her Effects are left behind with me to send up by first safe
Conveyance, from this you'll perceive that she has left this State and
I believe without any Expectation of Returning to reside here again,
and as she is now, I presume, become a Residenta of the Jerseys
Ye Govr of tht State, were he so acquainted, might wth more Pro-
priety take her Case under Consideration.
However If yr Excelly & Honrs could be of any Service to her,
you'd greatly oblige her, I would take Care to contrive her whatever
should be transmitted to me from yr Honors.

in a few days — the Horses I have taken are but thin and will not be fit
for service unless fed well some time, which I shall take care to have
done
