I have Made Bould To Trouble your Exclence with a few Lines,
and Begg you will please to Excuse My freedom in order to aquaint
your Exclence, with some Misconduct of Mine which was Dun
through ignorence, and a word your Exclence said to me, Mr Sairs
Com to me at the Time the British Ships Lay of against Town with
Ann order to Remove all the Boats up the River To Mr Caleb Bur-
gesses to be put under Gard, I had two ferrey Boats, one atending
the ferrey, the other up the Creek, and Bouth very Leekey, and upon
Suden Changes of Norwest winds this Side of the River being very
flatte we have Had the Boat in tendence Left a ground for 2 or 3
Days and then by having the other up the Creek on Deeper water
Could allways keep one to Go, and as your Exclence well Knew, that
Exprese's was Guine Every Day & very often in the Night, I thought
it would be of Grater predugess to the publick to Carrey the Boat
away then to keep her Kedey in Case of any thing Happening to Stop
