said hors wors some weeks after cleint by Captain Price from frid-
rick Town a small Lively Bay hors wich maks in Noumer 10: I
should Take it as a Pleisher to com Downe my selfe, But as my wiffe
is in an ill stat of helt, so that I culd not Lieve houm, & there fore
Refayned to send my acount or charge for gibing them Horssis until
I can com myself; therefore I Request to send me only a Receid for
them 10 Horssis & I Hope I shall give further satisfaction to the
Honorouble Counsel
N. B. this Day about 10 o'clock all the Prissener from virginas
Past Thru this Town, they com over the Rever at the mouth of Con-
nogechick Last evening allsoe, and all the Prisoners from fourt
Frederick, will be in Town this Evening & start Next morning — we
here by Repourt that the English Returned aginge from hir Pur-
shud Last Sunday a party of vollenteers from Bedfourth County
Durned out afther some Indian Near f roncks Town fourth, in Nom-
ber 37, 7 of them com in & said all the Rest wher Kiled [60 or 70?]
of vollentiers Durnd out yeasterday of Cumberland county some of
our Naibpurs

Yours of the 6th Inst I have Just received, two days ago I re-
ceived a Letter from the Governor on the same Subject giving me
Directions respecting the Militia holding themselves in Readiness
to march Please to assure the Council that I will do all I Possible can
to get every thing in readiness. I have reason to believe the Militia
of this County will not be backward in doing there duty, I shall be
thankfull if the Council would Let me have one or two Boxes of
Cartrages one Hundred Cartrage Boxes and some Musquets, the
Bayonetts we have are few and the Greater part of them will not fitt
the Guns. The Militia of this County Amount to something above
1500.
I received an order on Messrs Emrey & Goldsborough for one
Barrell Gun Powder, I received only one Cask weighing 65Ib Gross,
which I presume is only one half Barrell, the Council will Please
Charge me with no more. I shall be allways ready to receive Direc-
tions from the Council and will most Chearfully obey them
