purchase 200 Bushels of Salt. Send to George Town to Colo George
50 Bushels and, if you can, put in good Pork Barrels or Tierces.
There is also about 170 Head of Cattle collected from different
Counties now at Bladensburg which we shall order to Mr Murdock at
Frederick Town for the use of the British Prisoners. He also will
want Salt, and therefore desire you will send him 50 Bushels. If you
are at a Loss to procure these Quantities of Salt, you may apply as
much of the public Flour or Salt as will pay for it. We think good
French Salt willanswer best for the Beef, but it may be proper to have
one Half Allum, the Rest French.

Ordered that the Commissary of Stores deliver Robert Wilson of
this State Assistant Purveyor to the Southern Army Cloth & Trim-
mings for a suit of Cloaths & Linen for four Shirts for the year
1780 on Account.

Thursday 8th November 1781

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Samuel Duvall
two pounds and ten pence half penny of the Bills emitted under the
Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit &ca of the money appropriated
for the present Campaign to be delivered over to Richard Crabb. per
Acct passed.
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt. John Mitchell twenty seven
thousand pounds of Tobacco including four per Cent for the Casks
at the Warehouses on Patowmack in lieu of two hundred and twenty
five pounds Specie due him for Clothing purchased by William Clagett
under the " Act to procure an immediate Supply of Clothing and flesh
Provisions for the Troops &ca " per Account passed by the Depy Aud.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Capt. Bryan of the State
Boat Plater as much Cloth as will make him a great Coat and the Cap-
tain to be charged with the price the Cloth cost the State.

kin late a Soldier of the 2d Regiment one Coat & one Shirt in part of
the Clothing due him.
