[Council to Capt. George P. Keeports.]

You will deliver to the Order of General Gist six 18tt Cannon with
the best Carriages you have. As we apprehend they may be much
more conveniently and expeditiously repaired at Camp than Baltimore
but should General Gist think otherwise, you will use your utmost
Exertions in having them put in proper Repair for Service

[Council to Gen'1 Gist.]

Your Letter of the 9th respecting the Ordinance we have been
honored with and have given Orders accordingly to have them im-
mediately put in Readiness to comply with the Requisition of His
Excellency the Commander in Chief. There are only four at this
Post, including those left by Colo Stephens, which can be put in any
tolerable Condition, the remaining six must be had from Baltimore
and we have wrote to Captn Keeports to deliver that Number to your
Order, and have directed him to select the best Carriages which we
apprehend may be repaired with more Facility and Expedition at
Camp than in Baltimore: however should you think otherwise, Mr
Keeports has our Instructions to have them compleated with all
possible Expedition. A Vessel should be procured by Mr Poe to carry
the Guns to York and he may call at this Port for the 4 here. Captn
Buchanan was furnished with an Officer and Guard and dispatched,
