Peter Cirque & William Smith of the 2d Connecticut Regt to each
one the above Species of Clothing & to be charged to the Continent.
It appears by an Order of the 23rd of May last drawn on the Trea-
surer of the western shore in favor of Colo Samuel Smith for the
use of his Battalion of Militia for two thousand six hundred and
nineteen pounds twelve shillings and six Pence that there still remains
due to the said Colo Samuel Smith and his Battalion, one thousand
one hundred and ninety eight pounds, three shillings and eleven pence
Specie to be paid to him or his Assigns for the use of the said
Battalion according to the Act of Assembly entitled " An Act relating
to Public Creditors."

more than one former order to finish the Galley he is building for the
State and request our Order on Mr John Skinner for it we shall be
much obliged to you to direct one Ton of Iron to be delivered to
Mr Stewart or his order.

[Council to Colo Samuel Smith.]
You are requested to purchase the five hundred Pair of Buckskin
Breeches already made and contract for one thousand Pair more
to be made and delivered as soon as possible. You are to contract for
them in the Bills of the last Emission as Specie and not to give more
than thirty five shillings a pair. You will also purchase the swords
of Ellicott in the same Money as Specie and all other Goods we have
heretofore directed you to buy.
