We send you the forty Pounds mentioned in our Letter of the 3d
Instant which did not go by Landsdale's Boy, as he did not call
for it. The Troops at this Post are starving, it is impossible to say
more to you on that Subject than heretofore, you must without a
Moments Delay collect at least twenty Head of Cattle in any part of
your County, and forward them immediately, and the residue of our
former Orders as soon hereafter as possible.

Our guard Boat is this Minute returned, the Capt Bryan has been
as low down the Bay as Point look out, which place he left yesterday
at 12 oClock noon, he has kept a very strict look out on both shores,
but could not either see or hear of the Approach of the Enemy; As
the wind is now fresh at South, if they intend to this Place they must
appear within twenty four Hours. You may depend on having im-
mediate Intelligence if any Thing material occurs.

Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt. Henry
Gaither Two pounds ten shillings of the Bills emitted under the Act
for the Emission of Bills of Credit not exceeding two hundred thou-
sand pounds &ca of the money appropriated for the present Campaign
due him per Acct passed by the A Gl
Commission issued to Edward Norwood appointed one of the
Coroners of Baltimore County.

We are informed by Mr Richard Henry Lee of Virginia that two
Deserters of the Virginia continental Line are in St. Mary's County
on the east Side of St. Mary's River, their Names Reuben McKenny
and John McKenny, John is married to a woman of St. George's
Island. Tarply Nash is another Deserter. Mr Lee describes them as
atrocious piratical Villains who have armed themselves and attempted
to plunder and raise a Crew of Desperadoes to ravage both sides of
the river Patowmack. We request you to take effectual Measures to
apprehend those Men and send them under a Guard to Mr Lee.
