of the Enemy, we think it proper to remove the Cattle out of their
way and direct you to purchase or seize one hundred good Beef Cattle
at least on such exposed Places according to the late Act to procure
an immediate Supply of Cloathing and flesh Provisions &ca and send
them to Places of security and put them on good Pastures subject to
our future order. You will send twenty or thirty to this City im-
mediately.

Capt. Sears will deliver you twelve Prisoners, some of them are
daring and desperate Villians, McMullan one of them has had the
Command of a Barge for some Time, plundered the Inhabitants
in the most cruel Manner, you will receive and secure them until our
further Order.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John Wilmot
eighty pounds of the Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission of
Bills of Credit not exceeding two hundred thousand pounds &ca of
the money appropriated for the present Campaign, forty pounds
thereof to be delivered over to John Smith Brookes Commissary of
Prince Georges County and the other forty pounds to Hezekiah
Reeder Commissary of Charles County to be by them Accounted for.
and also six pounds nineteen shillings and six pence of the same Emis-
sion of the money appropriated for the Defence of the State due

Woolford and Lieut Henry Gassaway each, Thirty pounds of the
Bills emitted under the Act for the Emission of Bills of Credit not
exceeding two hundred thousand pounds &ca of the money appropri-
ated for the present Campaign on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Wright Seven hundred &
fifty pounds of the same Emission of the money appropriated as
aforesaid to be delivered over to Colo Samuel Smith to be by him
Accounted for.
That the said Treasurer pay to James West Thirty pounds ten
shillings of the same Emission of the money appropriated as afore-
said due him per Account passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Rutland eleven pounds
eight shillings and four pence of the same Emission of the money
appropriated as aforesaid due him for Cattle delivered per Account
passed by the D. Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to Jub Fowler Messenger to the Gover-
nor and Council Twenty pounds sixteen shillings and eight pence
of the same Emission of the money appropriated for the Defence
of the State on Account
