We shall be glad to be favored with a Return of the Troops at
present in Annapolis under your Command and the particular Corps
they belong to distinguishing the Recruits since last Session. You
will favor us with this Return as speedily as you can, as the Com-
mittee of the House of Delegates have called on this Board for such
a Return.

[Council to Capt Keeports.]

The Assembly having called on this Board for an Account of what
Cloathing has been purchased or received since last Sessions, what
has been delivered and to whom, and what is on Hand. On looking
into your last Accounts and returns, we cannot give the Assembly
the Satisfaction they desire, we therefore request you will immedi-
ately make a particular return of what you have purchased received
and delivered since the above Period.

Tuesday 29th May 1781

Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to Lieut Rignel
Hilliary of the 1st Regimt forty six pounds six shillings due him
p Acct passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to James Carmichael six pounds,
nineteen shillings and eight pence due him per Account passed by
the Depy Aud. and also eight pounds for the use of Samuel Bennett
due him per Acct passed by the D. Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to Colo Elijah Robosson one thousand
and seventy one pounds, four shillings and ten pence in lieu of Two
hundred and sixty seven pounds, sixteen shillings and two pence half
penny Specie for the use of his Battalion of Militia on Account.
That the said Treasurer deliver to Stephen Steward Esqr five hhds
of Tobacco five thousand two hundred and thirty eight pounds net
on Account.
That the Issuing Commissary deliver to Lieut Rignal Hilliary
thirty two Gallons of Rum and one hundred and twenty eight pounds
of Sugar due him to 1st Inst.
That James Calhoun Esqr Commissary General for the western
shore deliver to Stephen Steward Esqr ten barrels of Flour and five
barrels of Bread to be expended in building the Galley & to be
by him Accounted for.

That the Armour deliver to Capt George Keeports fifty Gun Locks
and forty ramrods for repairing Arms in Baltimore
The Governor and Council have agreed with John Longdon of
Alexandria in Virginia to ride as an Express from thence to An-
