Possession the Property of the State. We have requested him to
exchange them and what may be in his Hands for Soldiers Shoes

Thursday 17th May 1781
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John Muir one
hundred and sixty eight pounds to be delivered over to Thomas
Rutland to pay for a Cable purchased of Joseph Williams for the
Sloop Matopany per Acct passed by the D. Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Bullen Three hundred Pounds
on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Sprigg Bowie five thou-
sand and twenty five pounds of Tobacco including four per Cent for
Cask, for paper &ca purchased of him for the use of the Council.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Niven nine pounds, ten
shillings due him per Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Simon Nicholls Two hundred and
forty six pounds in lieu of sixty one pounds ten shillings Specie the
Principal and Interest of a Certificate of A McLane and John Bullen
dated 25 Decemr 1780 for an able bodied horse purchased by them
of Richard Ponsonby for Colo Lee's Corps.
That the said Treasurer pay to the said Simon Nicholls ninety
eight pounds four shillings due him per Acct passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Beatty one hundred and
ninety five pounds for the use of Samuel Boone per Account passed
by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Williams seventy six
pounds six shillings due him per Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Philip Shepherd thirteen pounds
two shillings and six pence due him per Acct passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to William Spurrior Twenty five
pounds fourteen shillings due him per Acct passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Job Garretson Twenty one pounds
seventeen shillings and a half penny to be delivered over to Jonathan
Hudson on Account for Blankets purchased of him by the Governor
and Council.
That the Eastern Shore Treasurer pay to John Voorhees Sixty
eight pounds six shillings and two pence due him per Acct passed by
the Aud. Genl four hundred pounds on Account and also four pounds
twelve shillings and six pence for the use of William Stewart, seven
pounds, seven shillings & six pence for the use of William Henry
