contracted by the Officers of this State and to advance to them such
Sums of Money as may be necessary for their more decent Support,
and to do every other Matter and thing relating to this Business which
any Commissary might or ought to do, and further that you are to
insist on the Freight being paid in New York.

Friday 11 May 1781

Ordered That Thomas Donnellan deliver to Mr Stephen Steward
Senr one thousand pounds of Bread for the purpose of building the
Galley he has contracted for and for which he is to be accountable.
That the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt Philemon Warfield
sixteen pounds for the use of John Marriott and Twenty Pounds,
fourteen shillings due himself per Accounts passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Hannah May five Dollars per
Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to William Sydebotham Seventy
pounds fourteen shillings and six pence due him per Account passed
by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Elizabeth Issabell seven pounds,
Seventeen Shillings and Six pence and also two pounds twelve shil-
lings and Six pence due her per Accounts passed by the Aud. Gen.l
That the said Treasurer pay to Rhesey Todd five pounds twelve
shillings and six pence due him per Account passed by the Aud. Genl
That the Armourer deliver to Capt. Gilbert Middleton of the Plator
twenty pound of Musket Ball four pound of Musket powder and one
Double Block, and also to Colo Peter Adams eighty stand of Arms
and Accoutrements.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Capt Gilbert Middleton
three yds Osnabrigs for making up Grape Shot.
Commissions issued to Richard Harrison appointed Capt. & John
Mitchell Lieutt of the Schooner Boat Decoy fitted out to Cruise in

this City.

Commission of Letters of Marque & Reprisal issued to James
Forbes Comdr of the Brig Nesbitt 126 Tons burthen navigated by
80 Men, mounting Sixteen Carriage Guns belonging to John Nesbitt
& Robt Morris of Phila & Stephen Steward of Maryland.
