You will furnish Col. Murdock with what Provisions you may have
or may get; The Prisoners and Guard at Frederick Town are without
flesh Provisions of any kind. You will make every Exertion in your
Power to keep them supplied, as we wish to avoid every just Ground
of Complaint.

Monday 23d April 1781

Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to Jonathan Parker
one Pound one shilling and three pence for the use of Parker, Davis
and Coulter due them per Account passed by the Depy And.
Commissions issued to Benjamin Talbot appointed 1st Lieutenant
Thomas Orrick 2nd Lieut. & John Linthecum Ensign of Capt Vachel
Gaithers Compy Samuel Jacob Capt. in the room of John Boone,
Benjamin Fish 1st Lieut' Zachariah Jacob 2d Lieut. Charles Pecker
Ens. of Capt Charles Boones Compy and also to Nathan Moss Ens.
of Capt John Grays Company belonging to the Severn Battalion of
Militia in Ann Arundel County.
By his Excellency Thomas Sim Lee Esquire Governor of Maryland.

A Proclamation


Whereas the House & Senate stands adjourned to the first Monday
in August next and the House of Delegates to the first day of May
next; and Affairs of great importance requiring the immediate Con-
sideration of the General Assembly; I have thought proper that the
General Assembly of this State should meet on the tenth Day of May
next; and do therefore in Virtue of the power with which I am
invested by the Constitution and Form of Government hereby appoint

the said tenth Day of May for the meeting and holding the General

Assembly, of which the several Sheriffs of this State are hereby
enjoined to give public and due Notice.
Given at Annapolis this Twenty third Day of April in the year of
our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty one, and in the
fifth year of our Independence. Tho. S. Lee By his Ex-
cellency's command. T. Johnson Jr Secry God save the State


[Council to Gen'1 Smallwood.]

Capt. Duvall of Prince Georges County this Moment brought to
Town six Prisoners of War lately captured in Charles County, and
as the Men who compose the Guard have not had the Small Pox,
we wish to have them immediately releived from their Charge and
Apprehensions, therefore request you the Favor of you to direct
the Officer of the Guard in this City to receive them.
