Thursday 19th April 1781

Commission issued to Philip Nollart appointed Capt. in the room
of Van Swearingen in the 34th Batt. of Militia in Fred. County.
Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to Major Jones nine
Pounds, fifteen shillings and eleven pence for the use of Capt.
William Bruce per Account passed by the Aud. Genl

The Laws of the last Session are still in the Press, we have sent
you a Copy of the Act relating to the Militia agreeably to your
request

We received your Letter of the 12th and according to your Desire,
enclosed is a Commission for Capt. Nollart. Capt Troutmans Com-
pany appears to be full officered, we wish to know the real Situation
of that Company that the other Commissions you request may be
sent the Governor has sent a conditional Pardon in the Case of Doyle,
the Proceedings relative to Light have not come to Hand.

[Council to Thomas Sprigg, Esqr.]

We have received yours of the 12th Instant relative to the refusal
of the Recruits to march out of their County before they are supplied
with the Cloathing promised them. In answer, we must refer you tc
a Letter accommodating this, which we conceive will be fully satis-
factory and convince them that they will the sooner be compleatly
cloathed, and accoutred, but should they still persist in refusing tc
march we have thought proper to appoint Capt. Price to receive and
provide for them; he will apply to the Commissary of the County for
the necessary Provisions who will supply them.

Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to John H. Stone
Esqr one hundred and fifty pounds on Account of his Salary.
That the said Treasurer pay to Jonathan Parker five pounds seven-
teen shillings and six pence due him per Acct passed by the D. Aud
That the Eastern shore Treasurer pay to the Western shore Trea-
surer five thousand pounds of the new Emission remaining in hi;
hands.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Lieut Nicholas Mangers
onesuit of Cloaths & two shirts part of the Articles for 1781.
