have directed that the Maryland Part of the German Regiment under
the Command of Colonel Weltner, the Corps of Artillery Com-
manded by Capt. Brown and five Companies of Militia if necessary
should be ordered to relieve you. We have this Day wrote to Colonel
Weltner and Capt. Brown to march their Corps immediately and
shall order such Part of the Militia as We may think sufficient with

the above Corps to act as a Guard over the Convention Troops. The
Commissaries of St. Marys Charles P. Georges and Montgomery
Counties have been ordered to transmit all the flesh Provisions they
have immediately to Mr Murdock for the Supply of the Convention
Troops and Guard. You may rest assured that every Measure in our
Power will be exerted to prevent the Prisoners from Suffering or
having the least Cause of Complaint.

Prince George's Counties.]

We request you to forward with all possible Dispatch to George
Town, all the Beef, Pork and all other flesh Provisions that you have
or may purchase to be delivered to Mr Thomas Richardson, this
Provision is to supply the Convention Troops who are so much
distressed that if they are not supplied without Delay it may be
attended with serious Consequences.

The Convention Troops at Frederick Town being in a most dis-
tressing Situation for Want of Supplies, we have ordered the Com-
missaries in St. Mary's Charles and Prince Georges Counties to
forward all the flesh Provisions of their Purchase to you, which we

request, together with what you have, may be transmitted immedi-
ately to Frederick Town and delivered to Mr George Murdock This
Business will not admit of Delay.

Enclosed you have a Resolution of the General Assembly request-
ing us to direct the Matrosses under your Command to march to
Frederick Town. It is our wish that you march there as soon as
you possibly can, as the Troops under the Command Col. Crocket
at present as a Guard over the Convention Troops are ordered to
Fort Pitt.
