[Council to Baruch Williams, Esqr.]
By the Resolution of Congress of the 25th February last, this
State was required to supply two hundred Tons of Hay, and to
deposit that Article at such Posts and in such Proportions as his
Excellency General Washington should think expedient and direct.
We request you to procure and deliver to Colonel Hollingsworth
such Quantity of good Hay as with what has been already purchased
for that Post will make one hundred and sixty Tons and two thou-
sand Bushels Short Forage. We expect you will be particularly at-
tentive to this Businenss and every Assistance in our Power shall be
afforded. We send by Colonel Hollingsworth £250 of the new
Emission you will inform us of your Prospect in procuring those
Articles.

You are immediately to proceed down the Bay in the Dolphin
as low as the Mouth of Patuxent River, keeping a good look out.
If you discover the Vessels of the Enemy or obtain authentic Infor-
mation of their Movements up the Bay in Force, you are to return
and make your Report to us, as soon as you land.

We think it necessary to remove from this Place, Stores of Sev-
eral kinds to the Indian Landing, of Course we shall have Occasion
for a House there for their Reception. Mr Forster's is represented to
us as proper for that Purpose, we therefore request of you to deliver
the keys thereof to Capt. Philemon Warfield and you may be assured
Mr Forster shall receive full Compensation for the Time the Public
may have Possession of his House

We shall be much obliged to you to take into your Charge and
have closely confined eight Prisoners taken in the active Privateer
from New York and also Dennis McCarthy the Commander of the
said Privateer, the eight Prisoners above mentioned will be delivered
to you by Capt. Samuel Howard and Capt McCarthy is out on
Parole and lodges with Nichols Welsh near Colonel Brices. You'll
be so obliging as to send there for them
