[Council to William Smith, Esqr.]

We have directed the Xaval Officer at the Port of Baltimore to p
prohibit Legh Master leaving that Port until he receives further
Orders of this Board. Mr Master will also be informed by this
Opportunity of our Resolution to detain his Vessel a few Days.

[Council to Thomas Sollars, Naval Officer.]

We think it highly necessary that Legh Master's Vessel should be
detained in Port for several Days or until the Vessels chartered by
this State and the Spanish Agent to export Flour and Bread to the
Havannah, have sailed to prevent any Injury that might arise from
his or the prisoners on Board communicating it to the Enemy. And
do therefore request you to detain the said Legh Masters Vessel in
Port until our further Order therein is made known to you and that
you would inform the said Legh Master of our Resolution.

Monday 18th December 1780.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Colo James
McComas nine pounds seven shillings and six pence of the new
Emission to be delivered over to Richard Dallam on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Longden one thousand eight
hundred and fifteen pounds to be delivered over to Robert T. Hooe
of Alexandria advanced by him to Express riders established under
a Resolution of Congress per Account passed by the Depy And.
That the said Treasurer pay to Daniel Jenifer Surgeon in the
Hospital Department nine pounds eighteen shillings of the new
Emission for himself & nine pounds eighteen shillings of the same
Emission to be delivered over to Jarnes Craik Chief Physician in
the Hospital Department due them per accts passed by the Aud Gl
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Daniel Jenifer, Cloth
and Trimmings sufficient for a suit of Cloaths and Linen for four
shirts the Articles allowed by the General Assembly for the present
year.
That the Issuing Commissary deliver to the said Daniel Jenifer
and James Craik each ninety six pounds brown sugar, twenty
gallons of Rum and fifty four pounds of Coffee for the present year
inclusive.

Tuesday 19 December 1780

Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to Colo Henry ;
Hollingsworth six thousand nine hundred and two pounds fifteen

shillings on Account, and also the further sum of one thousand
Pounds of the new Emission on Account.
That Captain George Keeports deliver to Stephen Steward what
Military Stores he may think necessary for the sloop Porpoise
for the purpose of her present Destination.
