of Tobacco, eleven thousand seven hundred and fourteen pounds not
to be accounted for at sixty pounds per hundred and four p cent.

[Council to James Calhoun, Esqr.]


We have directed Colonel Wood who commands the Guard over
the Convention Troops at Frederick Town to send eight or Ten
Waggons to Baltimore Town for Salt for the Use of these Troops,
and as the Waggons may be daily expected, we request you to receive
from Mr Dannellan a sufficient Quantity of the Public Salt in his
Hands to load them, an Order for which is enclosed. You will also
be pleased to apply to Mr Dannellan for what Salt you may have
occasion for to barrel Pork and Beef.

Saturday 16th December 1780

Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to Charles Lands-
dale three pounds fifteen shillings of the new Emission in lieu of
one hundred and fifty Pounds to be delivered over to John Frazier
due him per Account passed by the Aud. General.
Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to Richard Duckett
junr Eight hundred and thirty six Pounds seventeen shillings and
six pence due him per Account passer by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to Samuel T. Wright Esquire sixty
Pounds of the new Emission on Account.
That the said Treasurer pay to John Dorsey eight hogsheads of
crop Tobacco weighing seven thousand six hundred and thirty seven
pounds net and seventeen thousand one hundred and fifteen pounds
Transfer to be by him accounted for at sixty pounds per hundred and
four per Cent.

That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Robert Reith five
yards of Linen to line a pair of breeches and waistcoat.
That Mr Thomas Donnellon deliver to James Calhoun Esquire
what Public Salt he may want taking his Receipt therefor.
Permission is hereby given to Captain William Cockran a British
Prisoner taken by Capt. James Buchanan of the Brig Fox to go into
the City of New York or Charles Town to solicit his Exchange for
Aquila Johns late Commander of the Buckskin Merchantman now
a Prisoner of War on Parole to Commodore Gayton in Case the
Exchange should not be effected, the said Cockran to return when
required.

We have required the Naval officer of Baltimore Town to detain
your Vessel in Port until our further Order is made known to him
and do prohibite your Departure with your Vessel until you obtain
