On the second Monday in November and thirteenth Day of the
same Month the General Assembly of Maryland agreeable to the
Constitution and Form of Government proceeded to the choice of a
Governor and Thomas Sim Lee Esquire was unanimously re-elected.
His Excellency was Qualified in presence of both Houses of the
Legislature by taking, repeating and Subscribing the several Oaths
required and making and subscribing a Declaration of his Belief in
the Christian Religion.

Tuesday following the 14th Day of November the General Assem-
bly made Choice of the following Gentlemen as Council to the Gov-
ernor. The Honorable Daniel Carroll, James Brice, John H. Stone,
Jeremiah T. Chase and Samuel T. Wright Esquires.

worth, Samuel Gilpin, & John Cockey.]
The Assembly having determined that the Horses which shall
be adjudged proper for the Purpose for which they were purchased,
shall be immediately sent forward to the Southern Army, and those
not within that Description, to be sold under the Direction of the
Council and myself, I have therefore to request you immediately to
send forward, to this Place, all you have in your Possession, that
the Resolution of the Legislature may forthwith be carried into
Execution agreeable to its spirit and Intention.
