[George Dashiell Somersett County to Gov. Lee]

Sir Yours of the 6th together with a letter from Colo Stone of
the 4th Inst I recd pr Mr Bennet, and agreeable to request have sent
the Copies of the several rolls of militia in this County, this being
the first oppertunity which has offered since the receipt of your
letter. Inclosed is a list of recruits raised and deserters Appre-
hended in Virtue of the Act for raising recruits &c Their enlist-
ments I sent your Excellency by Capt. Robert Dashiell at the time
the recruits went up. I have recd £13.000 of the 15 p C' Your order
in favour of Colo Joseph Dashiell for £10000 is paid. I have issued
warrants for the Class money to the Amount of £20,000 and shall
warrant for the residue immediately I have agreeable to the direc-
