Mui Senor mio: Poi la muy apreciable carta de VS. de 27 de
Junio ultimo reconosco la verdadera inclinacion que debo al Estado
de csa Provincia de que VS. es cabeza, pues por el ambio de las
Harinas conducidas en el Bergantin el Fox su capitan Santiago
Buchanan como por lo que me ha significado el Sor Roberto Dorsey,
no me gueda la menor duda
Correspondiendo Yo a tan singular demostracion he contribuido
a que se satisfaciesen las Harinas al rnas alto precio del corriente,
y se franguease al Sor Dorsey quanto ha sido graciable y creo segun
indica que esta satisfecho. Lo unico que me ha sido sensible, y ex-
pongo a VS. en ahono del buen proceder de este cavallero, es que asi
por livertar de que cayese en mano de los Enernigos el expresado
Bergartin como por que otros razones indispensables de utilidad
comun a las Potencias que oy procedemos contra la Gran Bretaria no
me ha sido posible permitir su salido hasta aora sin embargo de las
justas protestas que me ha hecho el comisionado a quien he ofrecito
daria a VS. los motives de su detencion para asegurar su conducta,
y para que VS. se sirva como se lo fido satisfacer a los interesadoes
quienes no dudo me Hagan lo Justicia de creer que a no mediar tan
poderosos motives como los explicados jamas habria procedido a
detener el Bugue guando solicito agradarles.
Con este motive me ofresco a la disposicion de VS. con cleseos de
exercitarme en su obsequio pidiendo tambien a Dios que su Vida
S. S. M.A.

Sir I am Calld on by your Excellency and Council to make a
return of all the provision and my accot and send them by Sum of
the members as I am return'd for this County I think myself Oblidge
to take my Seat in the House, and should have Indevoured to have
bin up the first Day. But never Could get the Cattle forward till the
Day before yesterday when I sent Ninty Six head forward which
is all I Could procure I shall be up by this day week with all the accts
in Order to have the [m] [a]justed and if Convoy was sent Down in
the Interim I should send forward all the Corn and Salted provision
NBA quantity of Corn now Shipt in pocomoke that is a healing
and must Be Landed if we have not a Convoy as the Enemys are
Determin'd to have that provision
