[Chas Blake Queens Town to Gov. Lee]
Sir I rec'd yours of the sixth of this instant this day. I have
purchased near 3000 bushels of Wheat about 200 pounds of bacon
3 barrels of Pork and about 20 head of good beefs. I have pur-
chased almost all the wheat at sixty dollars the bacon and Pork at
the remitted price and the beef at ninety pounds pr hundred the best
terms I could gett it on, wheat had been rais'd here by Mr Hutchings
to 25 pounds; and after that I could not gett a bus: under that price,
and yr orders to gett it on the best terms I could and Colo Hindman
being enabled to give that has obliged me to offer the same, part
of the wheat is now going to Elk and the bacon and Pork, the rest
shall be sent as soon as possible. I shall be glad of a farther supply
of Cash, to enable me to go on tho' not yett quite without, very
little of the wheat has been purchas'd at more than sixty dollars;
If I am not to give what is offer'd by others please to say in my next;
I shall not exceed 25, till order d by you, as I think that too much
tho' it may be wrong therefore hope you'll send me an answer soon.
