664 Assembly Proceedings, May 16-July 11, 1747.

Session Laws

Lower Houses of Assembly, and the Clerk of each House, and three
Books of the Votes and Proceedings aforesaid, to the Clerks of the
several and respective County Courts, for the Perusal of the Inhabi-
tants of the several and respective Counties; and also for the print-
ing, stitching, and delivering a Copy of the public Laws, during the
Continuance of this Act, to every Provincial Magistrate.
Provided Nevertheless, and it is the true Intent and Meaning of
this Act, That if it shall so happen that there shall not be a Session
of Assembly or Convention in any one Year, during the Continu-

ance of this Act, that then and in every such Case, it shall not be
lawful for the Justices aforesaid to assess the Five Pounds Current
Money, mentioned in this Act for any such Year, where it shall
so happen that there shall not be any Session of Assembly or Con-
vention; any Thing in this Act to the Contrary notwithstanding.
Provided Also, That it shall and may be lawful for the Sheriffs
of each respective County, and they are hereby required not to pay
to the said Jonas Green, the said Sums of Money mentioned in this
and the before recited Act, or any Part thereof, to be assessed and

levied for his Use, unless it shall be made appear to them by a Cer-
tificate from the Clerk of each respective County; (which said Cer-
tificate shall be given by the Clerks without Fee or Reward) that
the public Laws, together with the Votes and Proceedings of this
present Session, shall be printed and delivered in Manner and Form
as by this and the before recited Act is directed, within the Space of
Six Months from the End of this present Session, and the Votes and
Proceedings of every future Session or Convention, within the Space
of Four Months from the End of every such future Session or Con-
vention; any Thing in this or the before recited Act to the contrary
in any wise notwithstanding.
And be it further Enacted by the Authority aforesaid, That the
several and respective Sheriffs within this Province, shall, and they
are hereby directed and required to receive and forward the said

Laws, with the Votes and Proceedings aforesaid, to the Clerks of
the several County Courts, and the Members of each House of As-
sembly, as public Letters are by the Laws of this Province directed
to be forwarded.
And be it further Enacted by the Authority aforesaid, That the

said recited Act made at a Session of Assembly, begun and held at
the City of Annapolis, on Tuesday the first Day of May, Anno
Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-four, be, and is
hereby revived, and shall continue, remain, and be in full Force,
together with this present Act, until the Twenty-fifth Day of De-
cember, which shall be in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand
Seven Hundred and Forty-eight, and no longer.
