Mr Paca appeared in the House.
Samuel Chamberlaine Esqr from the Upper House, delivers to
Mr Speaker the Bill, entituled An Act for repairing and amending
the publick and County Goal in the City of Annapolis; and the
Bill, entituled An Act of Assembly, entituled An Act to enable the
Rector Vestrymen, and Churchwardens, !for the time being, in
St. Anne's Parish, in Anne Arundel County, to Lease certain Lots
in the City of Annapolis &c severally Indorsed, By the Upper House
of Assembly, July 7. 1747. Read the Second Time, and will pass.

Col. Tasker from the Upper House, delivers to Mr Speaker the
Bill, entituled An Act for Raising Three pence Sterling per Hogs-
head &c. (See page 485)
On Reading the Alterations proposed by the Upper House to the
said Bill, the Question was put, whether this House agrees that the
Money to be raised by the Bill, entituled An Act for Raising Three
pence Sterling &c. shall be paid to the Treasurers of this province,
as proposed by the Upper House, or not ? Resolved in the Affirmative
