Majestys Service; which, with the Consideration of a weighty pub-
lic Debt now due, will we hope render us excused on the Subject
matter of those Letters; and the more so, as it is well known we can
hardly find meanes for the necessary Supplies of our own Domestic
Affairs.
Was Read and assented to, and Signed by Order of the House
by the Honourable Speaker.
Dr Buchanan and Major Barnes were sent to acquaint his Excel-
lency this House hath prepared an Address to him, and desires to
know when and where he will please to Receive it, They return, and
acquaint Mr Speaker, the Governor Signified to them he would
Receive it in Half an Hour's time in the Conference Chamber.
Mr Nicholas Goldsborough, and Three more, were Ordered to
present the Address
Daniel Dulany Esqr from the Upper House delivers to Mr Speaker
the following Message; (See page 475)
The House adjourns 'til Tomorrow Morning 9 of the Clock.

Friday Morning, June 26, 1747
The House met according to adjournment, &c.
All appeared as yesterday, except Mr John Goldsborough, Mr
Mackall, Mr Robins and Capt. Purnell.
It being moved by a Member of this House, That the Bill, enti-
tuled, An Act Empowering the Governor and Council, for the time
being, to Redress certain Evils therein mentioned, should now have
the second Reading: The Question was put, whether the Reading
of the said Bill should be postponed to a future Day, or have now
the second Reading: Resolved, That the Reading of the said Bill
be postponed.
