The Bill, entituled, An Act to prevent the Sale of any of the
parishes within this province; was read the second time, and will
pass; and being so Indorsed, was sent to the Upper House, by
Dr Buchanan and Capt Tilghman
A Bill, entituled, An Act to prevent certain Evils and Inconveni-
encies attending the sale of strong Liquors, and Running of Horse
Races near the Yearly meetings of the people called Quakers &c.
was read the first time, and Ordered to lie on the Table.
The Bill, entituled, An Act for the Benefit of the poor, and En-
couragement of Industry; was read the second time, and will not
pass.
The House adjourns until To-Morrow Morning 9 o'clock

Thursday Morning, June 25, 1747
The House met according to adjournment, &c.
Mr Mackall, Mr John Goldsborough, Capt. Purnell, and Mr
Robins, have Leave of the House to go Home.
An Ingrossed Bill entituled, An Act impowering the vestrymen
and Church wardens of All Saints parish, in Prince George's County,
or of the Cousty wherein the said Parish shall be, to purchase Three
seperate Acres of Land in the said Parish, whereon to Build a
Church and Two Chapels of Ease; and to impower the Justices of
Prince George's County, or of the County wherein the said parish
shall be, to levy on the Taxable Inhabitants of the said parish the
sum of Three Hundred pounds, Current Money, for the uses therein
mentioned; was read and assented to, and sent to the Upper House,
with the paper Bill, by Mr Wootton, and Mr Stoddert.
Mr Hammond, from the Committee of Laws, delivers to Mr
Speaker an Address to the Governor; which was Read, approved and
Ordered to be Ingrossed.
A Bill entituled, An Act, for raising Sterling per Hogs-
head on all Tobacco to be exported, for purchasing Arms and Am-
munition, for an immediate supply of arms for the Defence of this
province, was read the first time, and ordered to lie on the Table.
Samuel Chamberlaine Esqr from the Upper House, delivers Mr
Speaker the following Message, (See page 474)

The Bill entituled, An Act to prevent the Evils arising from the
Entring up Judgments upon Bonds, commonly called Judgment
Bonds &c. was Read the second time, and will pass; and being so
Indorsed, was sent to the Upper House by Mr Worthington and
Capt. Bayard.
On Reading the Message of this Day from the Upper House, by
Samuel Chamberlaine Esqr the Question was put, Whether this
House will join in a Conference, or not ? Resolved in the Affirmative.
