agree to it upon proper Application being made to them; and 'tis
probable that the money so expended would do us Twenty times as
much Service, as what we have heretofore expended on the war.
Were it in my power, I would send 1000l in our New England Bills,
or in Suitable Goods to those Gentlemen for their present necessity :
this would revive their drooping spirits (whilst they are full of Ex-
pectations of being undone) and would greatly animate the Indians :
such Causes ought not to be starved for want of a little oyl to keep

Wednesday Morning, June 24. 1747
The House met according to adjournment &c.
The Bill, entituled, An Act continuing An Act of Assembly of
this province, entituled, A Supplementary Act, to the Act, entituled,
An Act for the more effectual punishment of Negroes, and other
slaves &c.
And the Bill, entituled An Act, continuing An Act of Assembly
of this Province, entituled, An Act for the effectual punishment of
certain offenders &c. were Severally read the second time, and will
pass, and were sent to the Upper House, by Col Hall, and Mr
Sulivane.
An engrossed Bill, entituled An Act Enabling and Requiring the
Clerk of Baltimore County, to Record a Deed of Bargain and Sale,
from Morgan Murray, to Mary Stevenson, and the making valid
the same; was Read and assented to, and sent to the Upper House,
with the paper Bill, by Major Sheredine and Capt Paca.
Richard Lee Esqr from the Upper House, delivers to Mr Speaker,
the Bill, entituled, an Act to cut off the Entail of 200 Acres of Land,
part of a Tract of Land Called St. Patrick's Hill &c And the Bill,
entituled, An Act Empowering the Vestrymen and Church Wardens
of All Saint's parish, in Prince George's County &c. Severally In-
dorsed, " By the Upper House of Assembly, June 24. 1747. Read
the second time, and will pass.

Governor Shirley's Letter, and the Extract of Col. Stoddard's Let-
ter; Resolved, That an Address to his Excellency be prepared there-
upon. Ordered, That the Committee of Laws prepare and bring in
such address.
