In Answer to your Message of this day by Samuel Chamberlain
Esqr with the Journal of Accounts this House cannot agree to add
the sum of £918..14..6 1/2 as desired by You for that it does not ap-
pear to this House ever to have been the design of the Legislature
Power of this Province to build a Governor's House bv a Poll Tax
on the People

As to the other matters mentd in the said Message they have been
under the Consideration of this House heretofore in this and former
Sessions and not thought reasonable to be allowed in the Journal nor
can We now Agree to them Wherefore We again herewith send you
the Journal hoping the same will be Assented to by your Honours as
it now stands
