Mr Brooks, and Mr Hanson were Ordered to attend at the Bar, in
Custody of the Serjeant, Mr Speaker gave the following Reprimand :
Mr Brooks, and Mr Hanson
It appearing to this House, that ye have acted in an illegal and
oppressive Manner, in refusing to take the Money due from Robert
Haselop, of Charles County, for his Quit Rents, when he made a
Tender thereof; and by distraining the Plow-Horse belonging to
the said Haselop, and appraising him in a manner contrary to the
prescribed form of the Act of Parliament in such Cases provided.
And as such Oppressions are grievous to the people, I am Directed
by the House to admonish you to take care how you run into the
like Errors for the future, which I accordingly do; and acquaint you,
That upon payment of the ffees to the several Officers, and Charges
of Attendance of the Witnesses, taxed by this House, you will be
discharged from the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms.
The House adjourns until To Morrow Morning 9 of the Clock.

Mr Lecompte appeares in the House
The Bill, entituled, An Act to Divide Prince Georges County, and
to erect a new one by the name of ffrederick County; was Read the
second Time, and will pass; Sent to the Upper House by Capt Addi-
son and Mr Bond.
The Representation of the Justices and Clerk of Charles County ;
was Read and Granted.
On Reading the Petition of Thomas Hussey Luckett, and Jere-
miah Adderton, and Ann his Wife, of Charles County. Mr Small-
wood, Mr Wootton, and Mr Harrison, are appointed a Committee,
to enquire into the Title of the said Land, called Waidestone's En-
largement, and Waidstone, and the Value of the Lands contained
in the Petition, and to make Report thereof.
The petition of the Rector, Church Wardens, and Vestrymen, of
St. Margaret's Westminster parish, in Anne Arundel County; was
read, and granted.
The petition of the Rector, Vestrymen, and Church wardens, of
St. Anne's Parish, in Anne Arundell County; was read and granted
The petition of the Vestry, and Church-Wardens, of All Saints
parish, in the back parts of Prince George's County; was Read, and
granted.

On Reading the petition of George Plater Esqr and Elizabeth
Calvert an Infant, by Onorio Razolini her next ffriend, Capt. Ennals,
Capt Bayard, and Mr Mills, are appointed a Committee to enquire
