Gentlemen of the Lower House of Assembly
I Have considered your Address, with the Report of your Com-
mittee, in Relation to Mr Richard, and am of Opinion, that the Act
of Assembly made in his favour, however it might be intended, is
expressed in such a Manner, as not Sufficiently to enable him to hold
any Office of Trust within the Province; I will therefore appoint
another Sheriff for Baltimore County, in his stead and shall, on all
Occasions, be very careful of the Rights and privileges of his Lord-
ships Tenants Sam. Ogle
Col Lloyd from the Upper House, delivers Mr Speaker a peti-
tion of James Richard, Indorsed, by the Upper House of Assembly,
" Referred to the Consideration of the Lower House " which was
here Referred for Consideration until To-Morrow Morning.
The House adjourns until To Morrow Morning 9 o'clock

The House met according to adjournment &c.
All members present as yesterday, except Mr Philip Hammond,
Mr Mackall and Mr Paca
Capt Hopper hath Leave from the House to be Absent until
Monday

Dr Carroll from the Committee of Laws, delivers Mr Speaker
a Bill entituled, an Act for the Benefit of the Poor and Encourage-
ment of Industry; which was Read the first time, and ordered to lie
on the Table.
On Motion of a Member, Leave is given to bring in a Bill to
Divide Prince Georges County.
The petition of Mr James Richard was Read and Rejected
The House adjourns until 2 of the Clock

Post Meridiem
The House met according to adjournment
Mr Wootton delivers Mr Speaker a Bill entituled, An Act to divide
Prince Georges County, and to erect a new one, by the name of
ffrederick County; which Bill was read the first time, and Ordered
to lie on the Table

Mr Goldsborough from the Committee of Laws, delivers Mr
Speaker a Bill entituled, An Act for the Trial of all matters of ffact
in the several Counties where they have arisen or shall arise; which
was Read the first time, and ordered to lie on the Table
The House adjourns 'til To Morrow Morning 9 of the Clock
