Bills of Credit; As also for the payment of Two Hundred pounds
Sterling money, for purchasing provisions for his Majesty's fforces
raised in this province, and other purposes; and for continuing part
of an Act therein mentioned, delivers to Mr Speaker an Account
relating to the provisions remaining in his Hands, purchased in
pursuance of the said Act; which was Read and approved.

Samuel Chamberlaine Esqr from the Upper House, delivers Mr

Speaker the following Message, (See page 457)

Dr Carroll from the Committee of Laws, delivers Mr Speaker a
Bill entitled, an Act encouraging the making Hemp and fflax within
this province, and for Repealing the Laws therein mentioned, which
Bill was Read the first time, and Ordered to lie on the Table.

On Motion of a member, Leave given to bring in a Bill to Con-
tinue an Act, entituled, an Act to prevent cutting up of Tobacco
plants, destroying Tobacco and Tobacco Houses; and for ascer-
taining the punishment of Criminalls guilty of the said Offences

Leave given to bring in a Bill to continue an Act Entituled, an
Act continuing an Act to prevent the injuring Harbours within this
province; and for repealing the Act therein mentioned

On Motion, Leave given to bring in a Bill to Continue an Act
entituled, an Act continuing an Act entituled, a Supplementary Act
to an Act entituled, an Act laying an Imposition on Negroes, and
Several sorts of Liquors imported, and also on Irish Servants, to
prevent the importing too great a Number of Irish papists into this
province.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a Bill to continue an Act
entituled An Act continuing an Act of Assembly of this province
entituled, an Act for the more effectual punishment of certain Of-
fenders, and for taking from them the Benefit of Clergy.
Leave given to bring in a Bill to continue an Act entituled, an Act
continuing An Act of Assembly of this province entituled, An Act
for the more effectual punishment of certain Offenders, and for
taking from them the Benefit of Clergy.

Leave given to bring in a Bill to continue an Act entituled an Act
continuing an Act of Assembly of this province entituled, a supple-
mentary Act to the Act entituled, an Act for the more effectual pun-
ishment of Negroes and other Slaves, and for taking away the
Benefit of Clergy from certain Offenders; and to An Act entituled,
An Act to prevent the Tumultuous Meetings and other Irregularities
of negroes and other Slaves, and directing the manner of Trying
Slaves.
On motion, Leave given to bring in a Bill to continue an Act enti-
tuled, An Act for punishment of Horse-Stealing and other Offenders.
