Robert King and Doctor Charles Carrol former Agents for Pro-
viding for and Transporting his Majesty's Forces to Albany in the
Province of New York Consigned to Stephen Bayard Esquire Mer-
chant in New York for the use maintainance & support of his
Majesty's Forces the Soldiers raised within this Province and now
in the Province of New York aforesaid and take Three Bills of
Loading for the same two of which Bills of Loading to be by them
the said Agents transmitted to the said Stephen Bayard at the same
time they also acquainting the Captains of the said Company's
thereof and of other the Provision made by Virtue of the Act for the
said Soldiers And be it likewise Enacted by the Authority aforesaid
that Colonel Charles Hammond Treasurer of the Western Shore
in this Province shall and is hereby directed and Impowered to
draw a Sett of Bills of Exchange for the sum of Two hundred
Pounds Sterling on Master William Hunt Merchant in London
payable to Colonel John Scarborough Captain Thomas Robins &
Master Isaac Morris or any two of them or their Order Agents
aforesaid out of the money in his hands Arising on the Duty of
Twenty shillings Sterling per head on Irish Servants being Papists
and Negroes Imported into this Province formerly remitted to him
by Colonel Samuel Young late Treasurer of the Western Shore of
the Province of Maryland and the said Charles Hammond Esquire
is hereby required to Advise the said William Hunt by several oppor-
tunitys of the Draft aforesaid and they the said Agents or any two
of them are hereby Impowered and directed to Endorse the said Bills
of Exchange and to transmitt them to the said Stephen Bayard with
Instructions to him to dispose of and Lay out the same in bread for
the Use of the Soldiers aforesaid And be it likewise Enacted by the
Authority aforesaid that they the said Agents or any two of them
shall and they are hereby directed and Impowered to pay out of the
Bills of Credit so by them received of the Commissioners or Trustees
aforesaid unto the Honourable Benjamin Tasker Esquire Colonel
Robert King and Doctor Charles Carrol the former Agents for their
Care, pains, and Trouble in Providing necessaries for and Trans-
porting the said Officers and Soldiers to Albany in the Province of
New York the sum of One Hundred pounds Current money And
they the said Colonel John Scarborough Captain Thomas Robins and
Master Isaac Morris Agents herein Appointed are hereby Impowered
to retain to their own Use out of the said Bills of Credit or moneys
by them to be received of the Trustees aforesaid the sum of Five
pounds per Centum on the payments and Disbursements which in
Virtue of this Act they are directed to make for and in Considera-
tion of their pains Care and Labour therein and they the said Agents
are hereby further Authorized and Directed to Agree with any
Owner or Owners of Vessels for Transporting the Provisions afd
and to pay the Freight for the same and an Account of their Pro-
ceedings herein to lay before the Next General Assembly of this
