Read the Petition of Elizabeth Hanson praying that an Act may
pass to entitle her to a Tract of Land lying in Charles County con-
taining 100 Acres Conveyed by a certain James Connell and Ann
his wife of St. Marys County to a Certain John Dunbar and also
read the Petition of Samuel Preston Moore Margarett Moore and
others praying Leave to bring in a Bill to confirm a Deed of Bargain
and Sale from William Mitchell Edward Mitchell & Grace his Wife
to Mordecai Moore for a tract of Land called Mitchells Chance
referred to the Consideration of the Lower House of Assembly and
sent by Philip Thomas Esqr
Read the first time the Bill entituled an Act for Limitation of
Officers Fees and Ordered to lie on the Table
Read the second time by especial Order the Bill entitd an Act for
Limitation of Officers Fees and will not pass and sent to the Lower
House with the following Message by Colo Hollyday
By the Upper House of Assembly 27 August 1745
Gentlemen

Although We cannot agree to pass the Bill Entituled an Act for
Limitation of Officers fees, as it is now framed yet We are most
sincerely disposed to concur in any measures that may conduce to
the ease and Happiness of the People

This House met again according to Adjournment

Present as Yesterday
Read the Petition of sundry the Freeholders and Inhabitants of
the Upper Part of Dorchester and Queen Anns Counties praying that
a Bill may be brought in for erecting a new County out of the Upper
Part of the said two Counties and referred to the Consideration of
the Lower House of Assembly and also read the Petition of sundry
the Inhabitants of Baltimore and Jones's Towns praying that A Bill
may be brought in for Resurveying the said two Towns and laying
them into one and the same may be called Baltimore Town referred
to the Consideration of the Lower House of Assembly and sent by
Colo Hammond
Read the Petition of sundry the Inhabitants of Prince Georges
County praying a Division of the said County into three parts and
Rejected
Read the Petition of Samuel Handy and Stephen Handy praying
Leave to bring in a Bill to confirm a title to themselves to a Tract of
