Friday Morning September 13. 1745
The House met according to Adjournment, and the Proceedings
of Yesterday were read.
Ordered, That Col. King, Mr George, Mr Philip Hammond, Mr
Smith, Col. Colvill, and Dr Carroll, be a Committee to enquire what
Commodities, besides Tobacco, it will be convenient to tax, and how
much, towards raising a Sum to be paid to his Lordship in Lieu of
his Quit Rents.
Ordered, That the Clerk of this House give notice to the absent
Members, that their immediate Attendance is required.

On reading of which, the House concurs therewith.
On reading the Message of Wednesday from the Upper House,
by Col. Hammond, A Question was put, whether the House will
now answer the said Message in all its Parts? Resolved in the
Affirmative.
