306 pounds of Tobacco paid as aforesaid by the said Fowler by Order
of the said Thomas Ireland to the aforesaid James Williamson,
alledging that the said William Fowler was indebted to him the said
Thomas Ireland, and a certain Roger Boyce his Partner, a Money
Debt to the Sum of £2.. 6.. 6 notwithstanding the said William Fowler
had before that Time satisfied and paid the said Roger Boyce, part-
ner as aforesaid with the said Thomas Ireland, the Sum of two
Pounds in Part of the Money Debt aforesaid (of which the said
Thomas Ireland had notice) For which said sum of 485 Pounds of
Tobacco, the said William Fowler did then give an Order on Mr
William Holland, in order to satisfy the Judgment aforesaid, by
Virtue of which Order the said William Holland did by his Overseer
Henry Keene, shew a Quantity of merchantable Tobacco to the
Receiver of the said Thomas Ireland, in the House of the said
William Holland, sufficient to answer the Judgment aforesaid: But
so it was (we beg leave to inform your Honourable House) that
after the shewing the Tobacco aforesaid, the said Thomas Ireland,
without ever returning the said note, did make out Execution against
the said William Fowler on the Judgment aforesaid, by means
whereof the said Fowler was by the Sheriff of the said County taken
into Custody and put to great Charges thereon, and obliged to pro-
cure Mr Samuel Harrison of the said County to discharge the same.
Your Committee further takes leave to inform your Honourable

House, that after the rendering the Judgment aforesaid by the said
Thomas Ireland against him the said William Fowler It appears
to your Committee, that the said William Fowler did apply to the
said Thomas Ireland for a Warrant against the said Roger Boyce,
for the Recovery of the sum of two Pounds aforesaid, paid to the
said Roger Boyce in Manner aforesaid, yet the said Thomas Ireland
contrary to the Duty of a Magistrate, did absolutely deny and refuse
to grant the same, All which Actings, Doings, and neglects afore-
said, we take to be a manifest Oppression, and tends to alienate the
Minds of the People from the Right Honourable the Lord Proprie-
tary of this Province. But is humbly submitted to the Consideration
of your Honourable House

Which being read, the House concurs therewith, And, Ordered,
that William Fowler, and Mr Thomas Ireland junr attend this House
on Monday next.
Ordered, that the Clerk issue such Summons as either Party shall
desire
The House again taking into Consideration that Part of the Report
from the Committee of Elections and Privileges which relates to
Mr Mills
A Question was put, Whether the said Mr Mills was duly elected
or not ? Resolved in the Negative.
