per Poll levied by the Governor and Council on the Taxable Inhabi-
tants of this Province.
Resolved unanimously, that the levying the same is illegal and
oppressive.
And Ordered, That an Address be prepared to his Excellency, on
the Subject matter of that Message, and that the Committee of Laws
prepare and bring in the same.
Daniel Dulany Esqre from the Upper House delivers Mr Speaker
a Petition of the back Inhabitants of Prince George's County, pray-
ing that a Bill may be brought in for the Division of the said County.
And a Petition of the said Back Inhabitants, complaining of the
Injuries done them by Deer Hunters, and praying that a Bill may be
brought in for their Relief.
Which Petitions were thus Indorsed, viz.
By the Upper House of Assembly, Aug. 27. 1745
Read and referred to the Consideration of the Lower House of
Assembly Signed per Order I Ross G. Up. Ho.
Philip Thomas Esqre from the Upper House delivers Mr Speaker
a Petition of Samuel Preston Moore, Margaret Moore, Richard
Moore, Mordecai Moore, Thomas Moore, and Charles Moore, pray-
ing leave to bring in a Bill to confirm a Deed of Bargain and Sale,
between Mordecai Moore, and William Mitchel, Edward Mitchel,
and Grace his Wife for a Tract of Land called Mitchel's Chance.
And a Petition of Elizabeth Hanson, praying that an Act may
pass to entitle her to a Tract of Land lying in Charles County, con-
taining One Hundred Acres, conveyed by a certain James Connell
and Anne his Wife of St Mary's County, to a certain John Dunbarr.
Which Petitions were thus Indorsed, viz. By the Upper House
of Assembly Aug. 27. 1745.
Read and referred to the Consideration of the Lower House of
Assembly Signed per Order J. Ross G. Up Ho.

Wednesday Morning, August 28, 1745.
The House met according to Adjournment: And the Proceed-
ings of Yesterday were read.

Resolved, That the Complaint of Mr Philemon Lecompte against
Mr James Billings, a Magistrate of Dorchester County, be referred
for Consideration to the next Session of Assembly; and Ordered,
that the Clerk of this House give Mr Billings Notice thereof.
