John Jenkins demandeth Writt Scire facias agst Cloues Mace, for
338^l Tob, according to an Order of Court, obteyned agst the s^d mace
by Thomas Bachelo^r deceased att a Court held att S^t Maries 24 May
1654. The s^d Jnkins hatiing marryed the Relict of the s^d Bachelo^r
Csecilius Absolute Lord & Proprietary of the Prouince of Mary-
land &c: To Nicholas Gwyther gentⁿ Sheriffe of the County of S^t
Maries. Because th^t Cloues Mace of New Towne hund^d ought to
haue payd to Thomas Bachelo^r of Cedar Poynt in Charles County,
the summe of Three hund^d thirty Eight pownds of Tob & cask,
uppon the Tenth of Nouemb^r 1654 as appear eth to Vs uppon ueiw
of the Records of Our Prouinciall Court, w^ch are yett unpayd as is
alleaged. Wee Command yo^u th^t yo^u make knowne unto the s^d
Cloues Mace th^t hee bee att our Prouinciall Court on the 8^th of
September next, wheresoeu^r it be held, To shew if hee haue any
thing to say why the s^d Tob. should not be leuyed uppon his lands,
goods, & chatties: & to the Execute^rs of the s^d Thomas Bachelo^r be
deliuered, according to the force & effect of the s^d Judgment. And
haue you there the names of those persons by whom you haue made
this knowne unto him, & allsoe this Our writt Guyen att S^t Maries
27^o May 1658.
