Rec^d of Cap^t William Batting foure thousand pounds of Tobacco
in full of all Acc^ts betwixt the s^d Batting and Cornelius Stenwick
I say rec^d the day and yeare aboue written p me That is to say for
M^r Augustine Herman and for all debts or demands Concerning his
Negros bought by the s^d Batting Sam: Smith
Ordered that M^r Slye secure foure thousand pounds of tobacco
in his hands out of the Estate of Samuell Smith deceased, and that
he doe soe farr forth secure Cap^t W^m Battyn against any demands
of Cornelius Stenwick to be made vpon any Bonds bills or Accompts
due from the said Battin to M^r Richard LLord or M^r Augustine
Herman And also all acc^ts from Stenwick to Battyn from the date of

the Condicon aboue menconed .... of seven thousand seven hundred
Eighty six pounds of tobacco and Caske with 2 yeares forbearance
which att 8^lb in the hundred comes to one thousand two hundred
ninety and foure pounds of tobacco & caske Therefore yo^r pet^r in
the behalfe of the Administrato^rs Craveth order for the aforesaid
Sume of nine thousand and Eighty pounds of tobacco and Caske
with Costs of Suite And yo^r pet^r as in duty bound shall pray &c.
This bill bindeth me W^m Battin of Pikaiwaxen in Maryland
Merch^t me my heires Executors & assigns to pay or Cause to be
payd vnto M^r James Scapes in Company Merch^t of North Yarmouth
in the County of Norrige in England heires Executors or Assignes
the full and iust Sume of nine thousand seaven hund^d sixty and six
pounds of good sound merchantable Leafe tobacco and Caske to be
payd Betwixt Brettons Bay and Portobacco in Potowmack river att
or before the 10^th day of October next As Wittnes my hand this 28^th
of March Anno dmni 1660 W^m WB Battin marke
Testis Edmund Pinson Peter Mills his P marke.
Vpon the back of which Bill was writt this receipt (vizt) Received
by me W^m Dorrington in parte of payment of this Bill of W^m Battyn
for the vse of James Scapes the Sume of 2213^lb of tobacco I say
rec^d by me W^m Dorrington.
