To the hon^ble the Gou^r & Councell &c :

The humble Petⁿ of Samuel Tilghman Humbly Sheweth That yo^e
Pet^e hauing in the yeare 56 transported out of England Will^m Edwin
of this Prouince uppon the ship Goulden ffortune & the s^d Edwin
hauing not satis fyed according to Agreem^t yo^r Pet^r craues Judgm^t
for his Debt w^th costs of suite, & allowance for fforbearance
And hee shall pray &c :
To the ptfs Petⁿ and the Bond produced by him, The deft sayth
that hee payd a Steare formerly in part of Satisfaction of th^t Debt,
& profered to satisfy the remainder in Cattle.

June the 2^d 1657

Rec^d of goodman Edwin in part of paym^t one small Steare con-
teyning the weight of 251^l for the use of Cap^t Tilghman by me

W^ch Receipt the ptf acknowleclgeth.
It is Ordered th^t the deft pay Eight hund^d twenty fowre pownds of
Tob to the plf, or ells Two Cowes about 5 or 6 yeares old, w^th their
encrease for two yeares. And then the ptf to repay to the deft Two
hund^d fifty one pownd of meate. It being the weight of the Steare
formerly killed for the use of the plf.

Tilghman

To the hon^ble Josias ffendall Esq^r Gou^r & the hon^ble Councell &c :
The humble Petⁿ of Robert Kedger Humbly Sheweth That yo^r
Pet^r deliuered to Cap^t Samuel Tilghman a Bill of 1800^l of Tob due
from Jenkin Price of Accomack yo^r Pet^r desyring the s^d Cap^t Tilgh-
man to receaue the same for yo^r Pet^rs use. W^ch the s^d Cap^t Tilghman
promised to doe, & to be accountable therefore to yo^r Pef if he
receaued it from the s^d Jenkin: if not, th^t he would returne the Bill
againe to yo^r Pet^r ( as by a Receipt under his hand to th^t purpose may
appeare) But soe it is th^t the s^d Cap^t Tilghman hath receiued the s^d
1800^l of Tob of the s^d Jenken, & yett refuseth to make yo^r Pef satis-
faction, or be accomptable for the same.
Wherefore yo^r Pef prayeth th^t the s^d Cap^t Tilgman may make yo^r
Pef satisfaction w^th dammage for the s^d summe of Tob w^th Costs of
Suite, & yo^r Pef shall pray &c :
Receiued of Rob^t Kedger a Bill of Eighteene hund^d pownds of Tob
due alt Accomack from Jenkin Price, The which Bill I doe promise
eyther to Returne unto the s^d Rob^t Kedger or Receauing the s^d Tob.
to bee accountable unto him for the same, as wittnes my hand the
